High Level Workflow
If you buy the ILX-LR1 package through Arcsky, you will have everything you need to get right to work and start capturing images. The X55 will already be pre-configured and set up to control the payload, so no additional configuration will be needed. The high level steps needed to go from having everything in the cases to fully set up is outlined below.
Set up the X55 and either the Battery Module or the Hybrid Module. See the X55 Setup Guide and the Hybrid Module Setup Guide for specific details about this.
Install the ILX-LR1 gimbal into the quick-release mechanism (this assumes the quick release mount has already been set up and left on the X55).
Power up the controller and the X55 - the gimbal will automatically power up with the X55 and do a self-calibration routine.
Plan and load your mission (if doing an automated flight) via your mission planning software of choice (QGC, Mission Planner, UgCS).
Take off and run your mission (either automated flight or manual flight).
Images will be captured automatically in the case of an automated flight, or manually in the case of a manual flight.
Land the aircraft and power everything down.
Remove the storage media from the camera and copy your images to your computer.
Load the images into your post-processing software of choice.
Process the imagery and enjoy the high resolution details and accurate results.
