Quick Start Guide
Fuel Preparation and Mixing
Fill the main chamber with gasoline, up to the level that is desired.
Fill the oil chamber with 2-stroke oil, up to the matching line on the 25:1 marker.
Gently shake the container to mix the contents.
X55 & Hybrid Module Setup
With the X55 in the case, Insert the landing gear into the landing gear mount, close the latch and install the safety pin.
Remove the X55 from the Travel Case.
Unscrew the arm holder screws and take the prop protectors off the arms of the X55.
Unfold the X55 arms and secure the arms in the open position using the knobs and latches.
Check propeller blades and motors for any sign of damage.
Secure the antennas to the landing gear.
Place the Hybrid Module on top of the X55 and close all four latches.
Fill up the fuel tank to the desired level.
Install the payload and check the center of gravity (CG).
Fly
Make sure to use the pre-flight checklist for reference during setup.
Turn on the Herelink Controller.
Go to the QGC software application.
Plug the main power cable into the X55 and the Hybrid module.
Move the Charge Bypass Switch to OFF/KILL position.
Swiftly plug in the On/Off Key to the Hybrid Module output panel. Keep the X55 still during initialization until the musical tone is finished, and just the beeping sound of the motors/ESCs remains.
Move the Charge Bypass Switch to the center (ON) position.
Start the Hybrid Module with the roto-start, and allow the engine to idle for at least 1 minute.
Check fuel level percentage, failsafe and flight mode settings.
Check for any error or warning and confirm the GPS is fixed.
Press the arm switch when you’re in a safe takeoff location.
To arm the drone, push the throttle all the way to the bottom right. You will hear a long beep. Once armed, all motors will start to spin.
Increase the throttle gradually to take off.
Allow the system to hover in place for at least 30 seconds, and verify that the system current, voltage, and fuel percentage are within the range of normal operation.
Proceed to mission or desired flight mode with caution.
After the flight is completed, return to a safe location to land the X55. Once the X55 touches the ground, bring the throttle all the way down and to the bottom left to disarm the drone. Make sure you hear the beep sound before letting go of the throttle stick.
Allow the Hybrid Module to IDLE for at least 1 minute to cool down, before killing the engine.
Press the arm switch when you approach the aircraft, to prevent any unintentional arming.
Kill the engine by switching the Charge Bypass Switch to the OFF/KILL position (down).
Turn off the system by removing the On/Off Key quickly from the Hybrid Module.
Turn off the controller.
Use the post-flight checklist.
