The items will ship separately and in their original packaging for safety. Follow these steps to set up the P3 on the X55.
Gather the X55, the P3 case, and the additional items provided with the kit.
Open the P3 case and remove the following items:
Phase One P3 Payload
Phase One P3 Damping Plate
Phase One Power Cable
Phase One Telemetry Y Cable
Make sure you have all of the following items ready (see next image): 1 = Phase One P3 Payload 2 = Phase One P3 Damping Plate 3 = Blue Threadlocker 4 = M3x8 Socket Head Cap Screw 5 = Adhesive Zip Tie Holder 6 = Zip Tie 7 = Hook and Loop Strap 8 = X55 Accessory Power Output Cable 9 = Micro-HDMI Cable 10 = Phase One Power Cable 11 = Phase One Telemetry Y Cable
Attach the Telemetry Y Cable to the Damping Plate connectors, as shown here.
Attach the body of the Telemetry Y Cable to the top of the damping plate with the M3x8 screw, making sure to use threadlocker on this.
Remove the M3 screws from all 4 clamps and set those aside.
With all 4 clamps open, and the white arrow of the damping plate facing towards the front of the X55, install the damping plate on the 12mm rails. Note that it may take some wiggling of the clamps and some manipulation of the clamp hinges to make all of them slide over at the same time. If the spacing is not correct for any reason, only attach the 2 clamps on one rail first, then adjust the spacing of the other side so that it can attach to the other rail.
Make sure the center of the mount is aligned with the center of the landing gear (when viewed from the side) - this should have the mounting bracket all the way back on the rails with the default damping plate.
Apply threadlocker to the M3 clamp screws and tighten them all down.
As mentioned in the earlier step, If you need to adjust the lateral spacing of the clamps, loosen the 2 M3 screws underneath the damping plate to allow you to slide the rail clamp in place, tighten the rail clamp, and then re-tighten these M3 screws. Don’t forget to re-apply threadlocker if you do this step.
Install the Accessory Power Cable to the X55 and zip tie it as shown here.
Plug in the P3 Power Cable to the power port and plug the other end (the XT30 connector) into the mating side of the X55 Accessory Power Cable.
Route the Power Cable as shown, using a hook and loop strap to secure it to the payload rail.
Plug in the HDMI cable as shown here, and make sure it wraps around the payload rail to prevent it from flopping around.
Open the AUX Port cover, cut a small slit in it, and insert the free end of the Telemetry Y Cable to the “SERIAL” connector on the PCB. Then, replace the cover.
Remove the dust cover from the P3, line up the white marks on the gimbal and the damping plate, and carefully insert the gimbal into the connector. Make sure the locking mechanism is fully unlocked. Once the gimbal is inserted, lock the mechanism by twisting fully toward the locked position.
Make sure you have a storage card in the camera.
Remove the lens cap from the camera (unscrew it).
Install a Power Module to the X55 (Battery Module shown here), so that you will be able to power up the X55 during configuration when needed.
