Common Camera Settings
Infrastructure Inspection
For infrastructure inspection, such as power transmission equipment, where the imagery will largely be taken manually by the operator, the following camera settings are recommended.
Auto Exposure
Make sure you have set the maximum and minimum shutter speed, ISO, and aperture settings within a range that makes sense for your application and lighting conditions. The auto exposure function will not go beyond these settings.
Focus strategy = Gate Distance
Set minimum and maximum distance to something around your target distance. This will keep focus from moving in large increments and lets you target fine structures without needing to keep the laser rangefinder exactly targeted.
Mapping and Photogrammetry
Mapping and photogrammetry setups generally are run with automated missions that are set up to automatically capture the imagery at regular intervals. These camera settings are the recommended starting point for this type of work.
Manual Exposure
Keep shutter speed faster than 1/1000, aperture at 5.6 or 6.3 and ISO as low as possible for the lighting conditions
Focus strategy = Clip Distance
Minimum to 2m and max to 99999m
They should both reset to their actual min and max
