# Power On and Off

Power On:

When hooked up properly, the gimbal will automatically boot up and do a self test when the drone is powered on. The power for the gimbal comes directly from the power to the drone. Please make sure to remove the lens cap before powering up, since this causes an imbalance and could disrupt normal initialization procedures.

The camera must be powered on separately, using the on/off switch located near the shutter button.

Power Off:

Power down the camera first, using the on/off switch located near the shutter button.

The gimbal will be powered down when the drone is powered down.
